MEET THE INSTRUCTORS

If you’re just learning the basics and have limited racquet sports ability, you’re a ROOKIE! Your participation in these clinics will help our Pro Staff evaluate your ability and direct you to the correct Open Play sessions at FPC when you’re ready. 

Goal- to help new players be more comfortable and competitive in FPC Beginner Open Play

• Intro and review - proper scoring, two bounce rule, offense-defense and proper position of serving and returning teams.
• Proper serving technique, how to return serve and to successfully sustain a Pickleball point in a live play format.
• Development of the proper pendulum stroke on the forehand & backhand side 
• Gaining confidence to approach the NVZ (kitchen) to develop proper dinking techniques and volleying skills.

Our Pro Staff will work with new players to get them on the court playing in our Open Plays in no time.

Fee is $25/person (1 hour, 4 people) + $10.00 guest fee.

If our Pro Staff moves you up from ROOKIE OR you have a racquet sports background, you’re ready for NEXT STEPS CLINICS. Your participation in these clinics will help our Pro Staff evaluate your ability and direct you to the correct Open Play sessions at FPC. 

Goal - to help developing players advance their game to FPC Beginner/ Intermediate and even Intermediate Open Plays

• Learning to consistently dink while changing directions from cross court to down the line forehand & backhand.
• Keeping your advantage and not retreating from the NVZ (kitchen)
• Will learn to sustain a short volley exchange at the net.
• Developing a consistent 3rd shot drop to help you aggressively move to the NVZ (kitchen) as the serving team. 
• More advanced movement and mobility drills developing court quickness.
• Work and focus on improving control on forehand and backhand groundstrokes 
• Growth in ability to keep ball in play during short rallies.

Fee is $25/person (1 hour, 4 people) + $10.00 guest fee.

Goal - to help competitive players stay tough and grow the tools needed to progress to FPC Advanced Open Plays

Knows and working on consistency.... 

• Can consistently dink while changing directions from cross court to down the line forehand & backhand
• Punches volley to the back 1⁄2 of opponent court to keep opponents at the baseline
• Performs 3rd shot drop from the baseline for purpose
• Moving forward as a team to approach NVZ for dinks & volleys
• Demonstrates control on forehand and backhand groundstrokes (direction, speed, depth, height) Keeps ball in play during rallies and is aware of minimizing errors
• Able to communicate effectively with partner and utilize different strategies to expose opponent weaknesses • 
• Uses offensive lobs effectively
• Demonstrates better placement and depth on serves and return of serves

Goal - to build a game that is tournament ready, successfully strategic, mentally tough and athletically sound to advance as an expert player

These clinics are for players who have demonstrated a high level of competitive play in our Intermediate and Advanced Open Plays. 

An FPC Pro Staff member will introduce high level live ball drills to warm-up, but the focus will be on game play. 

The Pro will then make the “fourth” player on the court and regular games will be played. The Pro will stop and critique play at times to demonstrate proper shot selection, court coverage, player responsibility and focus on strategic adjustments to help you play better Pickleball! 

Although you can register individually, we recommend that you sign-up with players you know at your level.

Fee is $33.33/person + $10.00 guest fee.

These clinics are for players who have been competing and are looking to improve their skills with high-energy drills and strategy sessions. As competition gets tougher, it becomes more difficult to stay competitive and to advance in level, these clinics will help players overcome the pitfalls that hold them back from advancing.

For continuity and flow of play we request either registering as a group or communicating with our staff before registering.
